NYANZA, NS – After years of depending on mainland breweries to supply their suds, craft beer drinkers on Cape Breton will soon have a local option to support.
Big Spruce Brewing is currently under construction on an organic farm in Nyanza, just outside of Baddeck, where owners Jeremy and Melanie White plan to be up and running in January with a brewery and restaurant, both using ingredients grown on-site.
The Big Spruce Facebook page has been following the construction progress in great detail, and indicates that the brewery will be offering beer in 20 and 50 litre kegs and 2 litre growlers when it opens.
More details about Big Spruce can be found in a recent report by CBC News Nova Scotia and a series of posts on local community blog Dream Big Cape Breton.
