VICTORIA, BC – Vancouver Island Brewery has announced details of a special 25th anniversary edition of Hermannator Ice Bock, the brewery’s signature winter seasonal.
First released in 1987 in a small batch mainly for family and friends, Hermannator has gone on to be one of VIB’s most popular beers. A regular edition of this year’s release came out in 6-packs back in October, but now a special anniversary edition is about to be released in wax-dipped 650 ml bomber bottles.
“To be able to brew a beer for over 25 years and have loyal customers coming back each year to enjoy this beer is a very rewarding feeling” said Jim Dodds, General Manager at Vancouver Island Brewery, in a statement. “We wax dipped each of these bottles by hand and while looking sharp, this will also help with any ‘cellaring’ local beer aficionados may want to undertake.”
The 25th anniversary collectors edition of Hermannator Ice Bock will be launched with an open house at the Vancouver Island Brewery this Saturday December 8th from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM. A special cask of Hermannator will be tapped for sampling, and brewery tours will be given. The 650 ml bottles of Hermannator will be available exclusively at the brewery store, where they will sell for $9.95 while supplies last.
