VICTORIA, BC – The Victoria Times Colonist reports that a location of Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub will be opening next year in Victoria International Airport.
Set to open in the summer of 2013, the 1,400 square foot restaurant and bar will be located in the passenger departure lounge, and will serve a variety of beers produced at the original Spinnakers facility, including a exclusive 4.5% session ale called Departures.
The restaurant will offer full service sit-down meals as well as take-out meals and snacks, using as many locally sourced products and ingredients as possible, an approach that is being carried over from the original Spinnakers location.
The new location will be managed by Eurest Dining Services, a division of Compass Group Canada that recently won a 10 year contract to provide food and beverage services at the airport. This appears to be similar to the agreement between SSP Canada and Mill Street Brewery that led to the opening of the Mill Street Brew Pub location in Toronto’s Pearson Airport earlier this year.
