TORONTO, ON – Following on a successful inaugural edition held this past February, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has announced that registration is now open for the 2014 edition of the Great Ontario-Hopped Craft Beer Competition (GOHCBC).

Open to commercial brewers and students in their graduating year of accredited Ontario Brewmaster courses, the competition will challenge brewers to create beers using hops grown commercially in Ontario. The beer style chosen for this edition of the competition is American Brown Ale, with entries to be judged based on the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) guidelines for the style.

Interested participants must register for the competition by November 1st, 2013. The subsequent deadline for beer submissions will be announced soon, and judging will take place during the 2014 Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Full competition rules and other details are available on the GOHCBC website.
