OTTAWA, ON – The Capital Pint blog on the Ottawa Magazine website reports that Ottawa’s oldest craft brewery and one of the city’s newest will be releasing a unique collaborative brew today as part of Ontario Craft Beer Week.
Half in the Barrel is an ale created by The Clocktower Brew Pub and Beyond The Pale Brewing which will be available tonight (June 19th) at the Westboro location of the Clocktower chain in six different variations – draught and cask versions aged in Cabernet Franc and Merlot barrels, an unaged draught version, and an unaged cask version dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops.
The $15 admission will get attendees a flight of 5 oz glasses of all six versions, as well as special deals on other Clocktower beers, and a chance to chat with the brewmasters from both breweries.
The column also notes that Clocktower is planning to offer growlers and bottles from take-home sales, with brewmaster Patrick Fiori hoping that retail sales will start later this year.
