HALIFAX, NS – The Chronicle Herald reports that Halifax will soon have its first dedicated craft beer bar (excluding brewpubs) with the opening of Stillwell this fall.
Founded by Andrew Connell, his girlfriend Laura MacDonald, and her brother Christopher Reynolds, the idea for opening Stillwell came from Connell’s three years of managing barVolo in Toronto, as well as beer bars that he and MacDonald visited on trips to New York City. (As the article notes, Stillwell is the name of a subway terminal in Brooklyn’s Coney Island neighbourhood.)
Aiming for a September opening, Stillwell will feature 12 taps and 3 casks focused on local craft breweries, as well as a rotating food menu featuring as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.
