ANTIGONISH, NS – The Atlantic Canada Beer Blog reports that just over a year after opening, the Townhouse Brewpub & Eatery in Antigonish will soon be living up to its full name with the tapping of its first house-brewed beer.

Expected to be available to customers within a week, the beer is described as follows:

A cask-conditioned English Bitter brewed with 2-Row, Crystal and a touch of Black and Flaked malt, the beer clocks in at 4.5%. The 42 IBU beer uses Challenger for bittering, and great English hops East Kent Goldings and Fuggles for flavour and aroma (including Fuggles for dry-hopping).

Townhouse owners Rose Murphy and Terry Piercey are looking to their customers to help name the house ale, and are soliciting suggestions via Facebook and Twitter.
