TORONTO, ONKensington Brewing Company has announced a replacement in its brand line-up for Watermelon Wheat, the popular summer seasonal that is being retired until 2014.

Filling the vacated slot will be Tilt Hoppy Wheat Ale, a pinball-themed beer that is described as follows:

Tilt is an unfiltered American Wheat Ale brewed with a 50/50 blend of Canadian 2-row barley and German wheat malt. With a light straw hue and lively effervescence, Tilt hits the scales at a session-friendly 4.4% abv. While lighter than both Augusta Ale and FishEYE-PA, Tilt still packs a hop-punch by way of an intriguing blend of Galaxy and Falconers Flight hops. The result is a bright, hop-forward pale wheat ale with prominent herbal, citrus and floral characteristics.

Available primarily on draught. along with a limited run of hand-labelled cans, Tilt will be launched this Friday September 13th – the opening night of Toronto Beer Week – at Get Well and 3030, two Toronto bars known for their great selection of both craft beer and pinball machines.

Tilt will be distributed to other beer bars in Toronto and Southern Ontario during the latter part of September, culminating on September 28th with the “Pinball Crawl”, a combination pub crawl and pinball competition that will take place at several pinball and craft beer destinations throughout Toronto.

For more information on the launch events and where Tilt will be available, see the Kensington website, Facebook page and Twitter feed.
