TORONTO, ON – As part of its schedule of Toronto Beer Week events, Beer Academy has announced a release date later this week for a new beer created in collaboration with beer journalist Jordan St. John.

St. John Marzen is described as follows:

Collaborating with Beer Writer and Certified Cicerone Jordan St. John, we took a step back in time to focus on a simple style that still has a huge influence on beer today. St. John Marzen is an exercise in restraint, interpreting a classic Oktoberfest beer style. Four varieties of Hallertau hops give it depth without huge bitterness. Jordan recommends drinking it out of a really big mug.

A release party for St. John Marzen will take place in the Beer Academy tasting room (75 Victoria St., Toronto) on Wednesday September 18th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Samples of the beer will be available along with cheese pairings.

Other Toronto Beer Week events at Beer Academy include a Beer Cocktail Competition later today (September 16th), and a beer and cheese event on Tuesday September 17th in collaboration with Afrim Pristine of Cheese Boutique. For more details and ticket information, see the Beer Academy Facebook page.
