Great Lakes Continues Tank Ten Series With Lake Effect IPA

TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery took to Facebook yesterday to announce the latest release in its Tank Ten series of limited edition brews.

Lake Effect IPA is a 7% abv and 80 IBU ale that has been available in various small batches in the past, but has now been brewed in a large enough quantity to support a LCBO release. The label copy describes it as follows:

The Weather Channel describes Lake Effect snow as “a mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo NY.

Lake Effect IPA is being packaged now for release. It will first appear on draught at select bars and pubs, with a bottle release at the LCBO and Great Lakes retail store to follow.
