TORONTO, ON – A Swedish beer inspired by a classic era of American youth culture will be available to Canadians for the first time this week.
Pistonhead Kustom Lager from Sweden’s Spendrups Bryggeri is a beer that pays tribute to the “kustom kar” hot rod movement that was part of the American west coast culture of the mid 20th century. It’s described as follows:
This full-bodied, malty lager is by no means another bland, mass produced beer. Made with Amarillo hops that impart a strong citrus flavour and packaged in smart, stubby black cans that feature the beer’s distinctive flaming skull logo, Pistonhead is a refreshing break from normal lager traditions.
Pistonhead Kustom Lager will have it’s Canadian debut this week at Toronto’s Gourmet Food and Wine Expo (November 14th to 17th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre), and will be available in 330 ml cans at select Beer Store locations in Ontario starting this winter.
