Beau’s Bog Water Gruit Returns for Another Year

VANKLEEK HILL, ONBeau’s All Natural Brewing has announced the return of Bog Water, a unique winter seasonal that is made using a local wild herb in place of hops.

The beer  is described as follows:

Dubbed by the brewery as an Eastern Ontario Gruit, this rare and ancient style uses a wild-harvested herb known as Bog Myrtle (Sweet Gale), used extensively in brewing in the 1500s, to add flavour and to preserve the beer. The seasonal brew is malty with a plum-like fruitiness that is offset by a spicy, earthy bitterness.

Beau’s Bog Water is launching for the season this weekend, and will be available in 600 ml bottles selling for $4.35 at the Beau’s retail store, BYBO delivery service, and select LCBO outlets throughout Ontario.
