PRINCE RUPERT, BC – British Columbia’s constantly growing craft beer scene got another addition this past weekend, with the opening of a new brewery in the North Coast city of Prince Rupert.

Founded by homebrewers Craig Outhet, James Witzke and Kent Orton, Wheelhouse Brewing opened its doors on Saturday December 21st, offering 650 ml bottles and 2 litre growlers of Gillnetter Golden Ale, a sessionable 4.8% abv ale that will serve as one of the brewery’s flagship beers.

Retail hours in coming days will be dependent on beer availability, with Blacksmith Brown Ale expected to join Gillnetter in the line-up soon.

For more details on store hours and beer supply levels, see the Wheelhouse Brewing Facebook page and Twitter feed.

  1. The Gillnetter is my favorite beer right now, such an amazing beer from my own town, who knew.

  2. I would like to speak with you regarding a promotion through our annual fundraising event for the Smithers Art Gallery. Please call me at 250-8473550. Thanks
