ST. THOMAS, ONRailway City Brewing has announced that this year’s version of the spring seasonal Sham-Bock will be released a bit earlier than usual in preparation for it’s first ever LCBO appearance.

Described as “a German Beer for an Irish Holiday,” Sham-Bock is a 6.8% abv German-style bock brewed with the addition of maple syrup, and usually released in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

This year’s edition will be debuted tonight (Thursday January 16th) at Railway City’s monthly Thursday Night Release event, taking place at the brewery starting at 7:00 PM. Several other Railway City beers will also be available to taste, along with an Irish Stew made with Sham-Bock and fresh bread baked using spent grains from the brewery. Only 40 spots are available, and those interested in attending can email info@railwaycitybrewing.com to check on reservation availability.

Following the release event, Sham-Bock will be available in 750 ml bottles at the Railway City retail store, and soon at select LCBO locations throughout Ontario.
