NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The 2nd annual edition of the Great Ontario-Hopped Craft Beer Competition (GOHCBC) took place earlier this week as part of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention in Niagara Falls, with the judges tasting and rating American Brown Ales from a variety of Ontario breweries and brewpubs, all brewed using Ontario-grown hops from members of the Ontario Hop Growers’ Association.
The top three entries from what was reportedly a strong line-up of beers were:
1st Place: The Blue Elephant (Simcoe) & Carolinian Hop Yard (Norfolk County)
2nd Place: Get Well Brewing (Toronto) & Nation Hops (Bernardin)
3rd Place: Olde Stone Brewing (Peterborough) & Slow Acres Organics (Peterborough)
Details of the 2015 edition of the GOHCBC will be announced later this year via the competition website at ONHops.ca.
