ABBOTSFORD, BC – It’s only been a couple of weeks since the city of Abbotsford got its first craft brewery with the opening of Canuck Empire Brewing. Now that number has been doubled with the launch this week of Surlie Brewing.

Founded by Tim Brown, a veteran of the BC brewing scene who has previously brewed at Mission Springs and Dead Frog, Surlie has been launched small but ambitiously, debuting with a 6.5% Strong Belgian ale called Solitaire which is described as follows:

Solitaire is a strong beer with hints of dried fruit and spice. The direct fire brew kettle brings out subtle caramel notes. Grab your favourite glass and enjoy this beer doing what you love.

Surlie Solitaire cannot be purchased or sampled at the brewery due to zoning bylaws, but it is being distributed now to select liquor stores in British Columbia.
