CALGARY, AB – Big Rock Brewery has announced the upcoming release of the next installment in the Alchemist Edition series of limited edition one-off beers.
Monk’s Misery is a Gruit, a an ancient beer style from before the discovery of hops that is made using various herbs and other flavourings.
While Big Rock hasn’t announced the full list of ingredients for their version of the style, beer blog On Beer reports that it will include lavender, wormwood, mugwort and heather.
Big Rock Monk’s Mystery will be released next Monday March 17th in a limited run of 2850 bottles that will be available in select liquor stores in Alberta and BC while supplies last.
