TORONTO, ON – In the spirit of the “Collaboration Nation” theme of this year’s Session Toronto beer festival, the organizers have announced the upcoming release of an exclusive beer created in collaboration with The Local 7, a newly formed collective of seven of Toronto’s top craft beer bars.

Session Raspberry & Lemon Verbena Saison was developed by brewmaster Sam Corbeil – co-founder of Sawdust City Brewing, and brother of Session co-organizer Jed Corbeil – in conjunction with the owners and staff from The Only Cafe, C’est What?, BarHop, BarVolo, The Auld Spot, WVRST and Bryden’s.

The group aimed to come up with a beer that would be ideal for summer, and the resulting 6.5% ale is described by Sam Corbeil as being “very dry with a hint of lemon and just enough tart, refreshing raspberry to keep you coming back for more.”

A preview tasting of the Saison will take place on Wednesday March 26th at all seven participating bars, with each featuring a special one-off cask or keg with an added ingredient – ginger, chocolate, Brettanomyces and more – that will be unique to the establishment.

The official launch will follow on Friday May 2nd, when the beer will go on tap at all seven bars, and a limited run of 750 ml corked bottles will hit the shelves at 30 select LCBO locations in Toronto and area.

Session Raspberry & Lemon Verbena Saison will also be available to sample at the Session Toronto festival, taking place at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 13th and 14th, 2014. For more details and tickets, see the Session Toronto website.
