WINNIPEG, MB – Half Pints Brewing has announced the return of Black Galaxy, a dark IPA that has been a popular March release for the brewery for the last couple of years.
When it was first released in 2012, Black Galaxy was described by brewmaster Dave Rudge as follows:
We brewed to 6% a/v with around 60 IBUs of bitterness. The kicker is the multiple additions of Australian Galaxy hops we added to the brew as it sat perking away. If you closed your eyes and drank this beer, you’d be hard pressed to think it was so dark, but that’s the fun of the style, and as the beer warms, there’s a bit of chewy black malts there, but the hops are in your face for the whole ride.
This year’s edition of Black Galaxy was released last Saturday March 15th at the Half Pints retail store. It will also be available in select Liquor Mart locations in Manitoba while supplies last.
