VICTORIA, BC – Vancouver Island Brewery is joining an exclusive club this year as it becomes one of the few Canadian craft breweries to reach its 30th anniversary, and to mark this impressive milestone, the brewery will be releasing a commemorative beer and holding an open house event.
Vancouver Island 30th Anniversary Imperial Red Ale is an 8.5% ale inspired by the brewery’s flagship Piper’s Pale Ale, but brewed with an amped up recipe to produce what is described as a “bold, malty, well-hopped beer.”
“Our 30th Anniversary Imperial Red Ale is a celebration, a way to give back, and a thank you for those who have helped us along the way,” says Ralf Pittroff, Vancouver Island brewmaster. “This beer was brewed in the adventurous spirit of the founders of our brewery and the craft beer movement in Western Canada. These pioneers helped to transform BC into the most exciting beer province in Canada and for that we are thankful.”
30th Anniversary Imperial Red Ale is available now in select private liquor stores in Victoria and surrounding area, and at the Vancouver Island retail store. It will also be available to sample alongside other Vancouver Island brands at the brewery’s 30th anniversary open house, taking place on Saturday May 3rd from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. For more details, see the event listing on the Vancouver Island website.
