VANCOUVER, BC – Granville Island Brewing is one of a handful of Canada’s craft breweries to reach the impressive 30 year milestone in 2014, and to mark the occasion, the brewery is launching a new series of beers that celebrate its history, as well as the history of the area of Vancouver that it calls home.
Kicking off the Under The Bridge Series is Swing Span Amber Ale, a beer named in honour of a swing span bridge that loomed over Granville Island during its time as an industrial area in the early part of the 20th century.
Swing Span is described by GIB brewmaster Vern Lambourne as “a medium-bodied, deep amber ale that’s rich with aromas of premium Mosaic and Cascade hops. With Swing Span, we’re living on the edge without neglecting what’s made our beers so special for 30 years: premium brewing, all-natural ingredients and our irreverent Left Coast attitude.”
Swing Span Amber Ale will be available in six packs and on draught at select locations in British Columbia and Alberta for a limited time.
