VANCOUVER, BCSteamworks Brewing has announced the release of a new mixed pack for summer that features two exclusive beers, and a new limited edition beer crafted in collaboration with one of the most renowned and respected American craft breweries.

The Steamworks Mash-Up is a mixed 12-pack featuring bottles of the year-round Steamworks Pilsner along with two seasonal beers – Jasmine IPA and Wheat Ale – that are described as follows:

Jasmine IPA (6.5% abv & 60 IBUs): Pours golden in colour with a lively white head. It has a very floral and citrus nose from the hops and jasmine flowers while hints of spicy phenolics and fruity esters come through on the finish. The taste of caramel malt is balanced by the lavish dry hop character and refreshing jasmine flavours. Hoppy, refreshing and complex!

Wheat Ale (5% abv & 12 IBUs): This summertime South German style hefeweizen pours hazy, golden in colour with a thick white head. Beautiful flavours of banana, cloves and hints of bubblegum coat your palate as you enjoy this refreshing ale.

steamworks_rollingoldenAlso available now is Rollin’ Golden Belgian Ale, a 7% abv spiced ale brewed by Steamworks brewmaster Caolan Vaughan in collaboration with Jamie Mastin of New Belgium Brewing. The resulting beer has been released in a limited run of 650 bottles in gift bags, and has the following notes:

Our collaboration pours golden in colour with a slight haze and has a thick white head. Aromas of fruit, citrus and spicy phenolics come through from the choice selection of hops, yeast, Szechuan peppercorns and chili peppers. Starts dry with hints of warming alcohol then a mild spicy tingling sensation lifts through your palate and leaves it with complex fruity peppery warmth. Furthermore this beer has been bottle conditioned with a select strain of wild yeast from Belgium that will continue to develop its unique flavours and aromas over time. Great to be consumed fresh or cellared to allow the beautiful yeast to further develop this beer’s complex nature.

To celebrate the release of Rollin’ Golden, Vaughan and Mastin will be co-hosting a Steamworks/New Belgium Brewmasters’ Dinner on Wednesday May 21st at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar in Vancouver.

The Steamworks Mash-Up package and Rollin’ Golden are both available now in select liquor stores in British Columbia.
