TORONTO, ON – Voting has opened for the 2014 edition of the Golden Tap Awards (GTAs), a publicly-voted awards event presented by The Bar Towel and the Ontario Craft Brewers to recognize the best craft beer achievements in Ontario.
With categories covering favourite breweries, brewpubs, beers and craft beer bars from across the province, votes are now being accepted via the GTAs website, with the voting window open until September 9th, 2014.
New this year are the “Tappies”, an additional set of awards to recognize other beer achievements in Ontario, with categories including packaging design, innovation, beer writing, and more, plus a “Brewmaster’s Choice” award for professional craft brewers to pick their favourite beer from any other Ontario brewery.
The winners of this year’s GTAs – including the special Editor’s Circle Awards as selected by a panel of Bar Towel regulars and other local beer experts – will be announced at a gala awards event on Wednesday, September 17th at beerbistro as part of Toronto Beer Week. The event will feature an all-Ontario craft beer festival and awards ceremony – more information to be announced soon.
