VANCOUVER, BC – Granville Island Brewing has announced the release of a beer brewed in collaboration with a local beer blogger as the latest installment in the GIB Small Batch Series of limited edition beers.
Lost in the Barrels Brett Blonde Ale is a 6% abv barrel-aged ale fermented with Brettanomyces yeast that was co-created by GIB brewmaster Vern Lambourne and Chuck Hallett of beer blog Barley Mowat.
In a recent post about the beer, Hallett describes it as follows:
The nose is lemon zest with a hint of pepper. The taste is firm, but not overwhelming Brett with a good sugar/caramel backbone, and the finish is a long, lingering dryness with complex barrel tannins. Colour? Try a light pale ale that looks like it’s been aged in used red wine barrels long enough to pick up some of the red.
Lost in the Barrels is available now for growler fills in the GIB taproom while supplies last.
