TORONTO, ON – Michael Duggan, owner and brewmaster of Duggan’s Brewery, has revealed to CBN that renowned chef Jamie Kennedy has officially signed on to serve as Executive Chef for Duggan’s Brewery Parkdale, a brewpub opening this fall in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood.
A recipient of the inaugural Governor General’s Award in Celebration of the Nation’s Table and a Member of the Order of Canada, Kennedy is known for his work at many of Toronto’s top restaurants over the past 35 years. Current projects under the Jamie Kennedy Kitchens banner include Gilead, a cafe and wine bar/restaurant in Toronto’s historic Corktown district; Windows by Jamie Kennedy, a fine dining destination in Niagara Falls; and JK Fries, his signature french fry pop-up stand that has become a staple of many Toronto food events.
At Duggan’s, Kennedy will oversee menu development and staffing of the kitchen, where the culinary focus is expected to share the “fresh and local” ethos that has been the trailblazing chef’s trademark for more than three decades.
More details on the partnership are expected to be announced in coming weeks.
