VANKLEEK HILL, ONBeau’s All-Natural Brewing has announced release details for a new beer created to honour a legendary – and recently reunited – Canadian hardcore band.

D.O.A. Hardcore 8.1 pays tribute to Vancouver punk veterans D.O.A. and their classic 1981 album Hardcore ’81. Described as a “high-quality organic barley malt / cane sugar interpretation” of a malt liquor, the 8.1% abv strong lager has the following tasting notes:

A classy, certified organic interpretation of the iconic malt liquor style, Hardcore 8.1 is a deep golden-coloured lager that mingles malt and fruit notes in three-chord harmony with honey-like elements. The aroma is fruity suggesting citrus and apricot. The finish offers a hi-test alcohol warmth that resonates like a final guitar lick.

D.O.A. Hardcore 8.1 will be released tomorrow (September 26th) in 600 ml bottles at the Beau’s brewery retail store and BYBO delivery service. It will also be available at select Ontario dates on D.O.A.’s upcoming tour, which kicks off on October 1st in Windsor and includes a matinee performance on Saturday October 4th at Beau’s Oktoberfest.
