SURREY, BC & DELTA, BC – The BC Craft Brewers Guild has announced the upcoming release of the first in a series of collaborative beers that the organization will be coordinating and making available throughout the province.

Maiden Voyage Cedar Aged Pale Ale was co-created and co-brewed by Gary Lohin of Central City Brewers & Distillers and Brent Mills of Four Winds Brewing. In a press release, the brewers gave their thoughts on the beer and the collaborative process behind it:

Lohin: “I was really excited about this particular style, as it’s one that has been in my mind for sometime now. I’ve been looking for a time and place to brew it, and this new venture from the BC Craft Brewers Guild gave us the chance to collaborate with Brent Mills from Four Winds on it. I hope this cedar aged beer strikes a chord with BC consumers given all the cedar we have around us here on the West Coast.”

Mills: “It was such a great opportunity to work side by side with Gary from Central City and to design a beer to help support the BC Craft Brewers Guild. It has been an honour for Four Winds being a new kid on the block to be a part of this inaugural collaboration series. I am very excited to try this beer when it’s ready to hit the shelves.”

Maiden Voyage will be released in 650 ml bottles on Friday October 3rd, and will be available at BC Liquor stores throughout the province. The next beer in the BCCBG collaborative series will follow next spring.
