VANCOUVER, BCStanley Park Brewery has released a new seasonal beer in support of an organization that promotes conservation of the company’s famous namesake park in Vancouver.

Windstorm West Coast Pale Ale is a 5.7% abv and 35 IBU ale inspired by a devastating storm that uprooted close to 10,000 trees in Stanley Park in December 2006, and the many individuals and groups that worked to clean-up the park and restore the trees in the aftermath.

The first beer to be developed for Stanley Park by new brewmaster Todd Fowler, Windstorm was brewed with Mosaic hops as a primary ingredient, and is described as having “the perfect storm of tropical fruit and earthy pine hop character and a rewarding bitterness that finishes clean.”

Windstorm is available now in cans and on draught at select locations in British Columbia. 25 cents from each can and pint sold will benefit the Stanley Park Ecology Society, a non-profit organization that “promotes awareness and respect for the natural environment of Stanley Park through collaborative initiatives in education, research and conservation.”

  1. I noticed this Pale Ale in the Prince George Liquor store and thought I would try it out. I love the Ales and IPA’s. This is an extremely tasty Ale with lots of flavour and aroma.
The next trip to the store I am going to stock up on this one, definitely worth trying. Excellent work!!
