TORONTO, ON – In a joint press release issued this morning, Molson Coors Canada and SABMiller announced that a settlement has been reached in their dispute over brand distribution rights.

The fight began in early 2013, when SABMiller announced plans to terminate a long-standing agreement with Molson Coors that allowed the latter company to brew and distribute brands including Miller Genuine Draft and Milwaukee’s Best in Canada.

Earlier this year, it appeared that the dispute would be going to court. But according to the brief statement released today, the companies have “settled amicably their litigation,” and “as a result of the settlement, the rights to distribute Miller trademark brands in Canada will revert to SABMiller effective April 1, 2015.”
