BAYSVILLE, ON – Lake of Bays Brewing has announced that the fourth beer in the NHL Alumni Signature Series: Masked Men – a set of four limited edition brews created to honour goaltenders from throughout the National Hockey League’s history – will soon be available.
Stitches Oktoberfest Lager is named in tribute to the iconic mask of Gerry Cheevers, the renowned goalie who chalked up 230 wins in the NHL, including a 32 game undefeated streak with the Boston Bruins that still stands as a league record.
The 8% abv and 25 IBU strong lager is described as follows:
Hallertau hops give this full-bodied Oktoberfest Lager its spicy yet tempered aroma. It pours a gorgeous dark amber, reddish colour (reminiscent of the flesh of black plums), topped off with a nice ivory-coloured foam. The aromatics are of dark fruit at the front (plums and dark cherries) with hints of hazelnut and almonds shining through. A touch of port accented with nutmeg round out the nose. The body is warm and inviting with caramel, toffee, hints of chocolate, and baked plums. The finish is slightly dry and very smooth.
Stitches Oktoberfest Lager is limited to 20,000 bottles which will be available at LCBO outlets in Ontario, the Lake of Bays retail store in Baysville, select stores in Manitoba and the northeastern US, and to subscribers of the Lake of Bays Signature Series Club mail order service. Proceeds will benefit the NHL Alumni Association, an organization that serves as a “passionate advocate for greater quality of life benefits for all former NHL players.”
