HALIFAX. NS – CBC News reports that the Murphy Hospitality Group – the family-run company that owns PEI Brewing Company, The Gahan House and many other restaurants and establishments in Prince Edward Island – has purchased Rogues Roost Brew Pub in Halifax.
Kevin Murphy tells CBC that there are no plans for any major changes at the 15-year-old brewpub and restaurant, with the full staff – including brewmaster Lorne Romano – expected to stay on. He also notes that some Rogues Roost brands may be brewed and bottled at the P.E.I. Brewing facility in Charlottetown for distribution to liquor stores in the region.
This purchase gives the Murphys a second brewpub in Halifax, following the opening earlier this month of a location of The Gahan House in the Historic Properties area.
