VICTORIA, BC – Phillips Brewing has announced the winning organizations that will receive the proceeds from the brewery’s Benefit Brew 2014 – and no, that plural “organizations” isn’t a typo.
For the first time in the history of the Benefit Brew program, voting was so close between two worthy charities – Victoria Humane Society and Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society – that Phillips has decided to support them both.
To that end, Phillips will be brewing a double sized batch of Dunkelweizen, with half to be released in BC in support of the Victoria Humane Society, and the other half in Alberta in support of the Animal Rescue Crew Society. Both should be in stores by mid-January.
Each organization will receive full proceeds from the sales of their respective beers – roughly $10,000 each – and Phillips will also be donating $500 to each of the other nine finalists that were on the Benefit Brew 2014 shortlist.
