REGINA, SKBushwakker Brewpub has announced that this year’s vintage of the popular Bushwakker Blackberry Mead – created using 400 pounds of Lumsden Valley honey and 84 pounds of blackberries – will be going on sale Saturday December 6th at 11:00 AM, although those hoping to get a bottle may want to show up a fair bit earlier than that to avoid being disappointed.

According to the event announcement, last year’s edition of over 6000 bottles sold out in less an hour and 45 minutes, and the line-up started the night before, with people braving a wind chill of minus 50 degrees Celcius for more than 12 hours to get their bottles.

As in previous years, porta-potties will be set up for the overnight crowds, and Bushwakker head brewer Mitch Dalrymple will be serving hot chocolate to those waiting in line. There will also be limited edition baseball-style Blackberry Mead t-shirts designed by local artist Gavin de Lint available for purchase, and a “mead-line enforcement crew” will be passing out purchase vouchers and ensuring there is no queue jumping.
