LONDON, ONForked River Brewing has announced the release of a new barrel-aged stout as its latest seasonal release, and has also revealed plans for a trio of sour beers that will follow later this month.

Available now at the Forked River retail store – and soon at select LCBO outlets – is Weendigo, a 10.2% abv Imperial Stout aged in Jack Daniel’s bourbon barrels. It’s described as “warming, but not harsh – the bourbon and toasted oak flavours compliment the luscious roasted malt character, providing incredible complexity.”

Coming later in December will be Catharsis, Myarsis, and Hansel and Brett’el – respectively a Belgian-style quad, rye pale ale, and farmhouse blonde ale – all of which have been “aged in wine barrels from Niagara-based VQA wineries, helping to give them tart and funky flavours.” Bottles of all three will be available exclusively at the Forked River retail store, and a limited amount will be kegged for select draught accounts.
