COURTENAY, BC – The small city of Courtenay in B.C.’s Comox Valley has the distinction of being home to the province’s first new craft brewery of 2015, thanks to last week’s launch of Gladstone Brewing.

Founded by the husband and wife team of Daniel Sharratt and Alexandra Stephanson – with John Adair (ex-Parallel 49) on board as head brewer – Gladstone sent the first kegs of its Belgian Single Ale to local bar The White Whale on January 12th, with the opening of the brewery’s tasting lounge following on January 14th.

According to a recent article in the Comox Valley Echo, initial beers from the brewery include the “Belgian single, a Porter and a Belgian golden strong.”
