WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE, ONYorkRegion.com reports that the owners of Stouffville Brewing are hoping to strike a partnership with the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to open a brewery and taproom in a downtown building later this year.

Founded by Bill Perrie and Jim Williamson, Stouffville currently has its single brand – Red Falcon Ale – brewed under contract at Wellington Brewery.

Should the proposed partnership be accepted by the town, the partners plan on having the building – which was originally a post office, and more recently senior’s centre and insurance office – fully renovated to accommodate a brewery, tasting room, retail shop and patio. Perrie and Williamson are asking the municipality to contribute $300,000 toward “bringing the building up to standards for leasing long term,” while they and their partners will invest $350,000 on construction of the facility, and will pay a proposed $50,000 in annual rent to the town.
