FORT SASKATCHEWAN, AB – Prairie beer blog On Beer reports that two former military men are planning to open the first ever brewery in Fort Saskatchewan – a small city northeast of Edmonton – later this year.

Two Sergeants Brewing was originally intended to be a brewpub with a full restaurant, but due to the worsening economic situation in Alberta, partners Kevin Moore (ex-Canadian Armed Forces) and Keith Edwards (ex-British Royal Air Force) decided to scale back their plans, and will now be opening a smaller brewery with an on-site tasting room and retail store.

The planned opening date and other details for the brewery are still to be confirmed, but Moore tells On Beer that they plan to launch with Bangalore Torpedo IPA as a flagship brand, and expect a Pilsner and Witbier to follow soon afterward.
