ST. THOMAS, ON – Railway City Brewing has announced that this year’s version of their annual St. Patrick’s seasonal beer will be launching at next week’s edition of the monthly Thursday Night Sessions tasting event.
Described as a “German Beer for an Irish Holiday,” Sham-Bock is a strong lager brewed with the addition of maple syrup, with the following tasting notes:
Doppelbock is one of Germany’s “biggest” beers – a powerful lager style traditionally brewed in the spring. With notes of dark fruits, raisins, and figs this great lager is very drinkable, impeccably clean and crisp in finish. True to the Doppelbock style, Shambock is a little sweet, higher alcohol (6.8%ABV) with a minimal hop profile.
Next week’s Railway City Thursday Night Sessions event will be taking place at the brewery on February 19th starting at 7:00 PM. The $5 admission includes samples of Sham-Bock and several other Railway City beers, and spots can be reserved by sending Railway City a direct message via Facebook or Twitter.
Following the launch event, Sham-Bock will be available in a limited run of 650 ml bottles at the Railway City retail store and select LCBO locations while supplies last.
