BAYSVILLE, ONLake of Bays Brewing has announced details of the next beer in the NHL Alumni Signature Series, and has also moved one of its rotating seasonal releases to the year-round line-up.

Coming soon in the NHL Alumni Series is Terrible Ted Red, named in honour of Ted Lindsay, a League MVP who scored more than 800 points during his career and helped the Detroit Red Wings win four Stanley Cup championships.

Terrible Ted Red is a 6% abv red saison that is described as follows:

This red saison pours with a warm coppery hue and tan head. Aromas are gently spicy, with a slight earthiness and a tinge of clove and banana. The flavours are predominantly biscuit and toffee at first, followed by warming winter spice. Medium-bodied and smooth, lively carbonation and the crispness of Belgian saison yeast and Ontario perle hops provide a balancing zing. The toffee tails off to a slight bitterness at the finish.

Terrible Ted Red is limited to 11,400 750 ml bottles and will be available soon at LCBO outlets in Ontario and to subscribers of the Lake of Bays Signature Series Club mail order service. Proceeds will benefit the NHL Alumni Association, an organization that serves as a “passionate advocate for greater quality of life benefits for all former NHL players.”

The brewery has also announced that due to popular demand, the autumn seasonal 10 Point IPA will now be available on a regular basis.

Described as a “British-style IPA [that] offers a balanced flavour profile without going heavy-handed on the hops,” 10 Point is available now in 473 ml cans at select LCBO locations throughout the province.
