SURREY, BC – Central City Brewers + Distillers has announced the debut of a new series of seasonal beers named after the characters inhabiting a fictional Central City – “a post-industrial, mythical metropolis port town” – that appears to be strongly inspired by gritty neo-noir comic books such as Sin City and Powers.
Kicking off the series is Detective Saison, a 6% abv ale with the following description and “back story”:
Detective Saison is the first character-based beer to be introduced, amidst the dirt and weeds sullying the streets of Central City. A breath of fresh air to the city’s moral compass, Detective Saison is a smooth, dry, classic French Saison-style wheat ale, balanced with a fine malt character and a spicy attitude with the added complexity of pink peppercorns. A witty intellect, Detective Saison has an iron constitution about right and wrong and her pursuit of truth and justice is unrelenting.
Detective Saison will be available soon in 650 ml bottles at BC Liquor locations and select private liquor stores in British Columbia, and on draught at better beer bars.
