TORONTO, ON – A new collective of homebrewers in Toronto and area have announced details of a homebrew tasting event later this month, as well as longer term plans to open a permanent “homebrew pub” in one of the city’s most iconic licensed establishments.

The People’s Pint Brewing Collective be presenting its first public tasting event on Friday May 29th at the historic Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St. W., Toronto). As noted on the Facebook event listing, the $40 “membership fee” will allow attendees to sample at least 8 beers brewed especially for the event by local homebrewers, and the evening will also feature live music by Jazz Money and a snack menu.

People’s Pint founder Doug Appeldoorn tells Ontario Beer Network that if the event goes well, the Collective plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign to purchase a nanobrewing system that will be installed at the Gladstone, allowing a rotating roster of homebrewers to create one-off beers to be served at the venue.
