TORONTO, ON – The 2015 edition of Ontario Craft Beer Week is just five weeks away, and for the first time this year, an official collaborative beer is being created especially for the week.

Today (May 8th) at Great Lakes Brewery, representatives from more than 25 members of the Ontario Craft Brewers will be gathering to brew OCB Collab 2015, a session-friendly Belgian-style ale that is described as follows:

The Belgian Style Table beer, traditionally low in alcohol, will be dry hopped with a blend of unique hops to create a signature aroma and taste. It will be fermented using a wild Ontario yeast collected by swabbing apples from an orchard in the Niagara escarpment. Light, approachable, sessionable yet flavourful, the beer will be approx. 3 to 4 % alc./vol.

OCB Collab 2015 will be available at many events throughout the province during OCB Week, with proceeds from its sale going to support the Ontario Association of Food Banks.

OCB Week 2015 will kick-off on Thursday June 11th with a launch event and tasting festival at Steam Whistle Brewery, featuring beer from all 50+ members of the OCB. Dozens of events at breweries and venues across Ontario will follow on June 12th through 21st.
