BAYSVILLE, ON – Lake of Bays Brewing has announced the release of the the latest beer in the NHL Alumni Signature Series – the seventh overall, and the third in the “True Grit” sub-series that pays tribute to former NHL players known for their aggressive and dedicated approach to the game.
Cheli’s Pale Ale is named in honour of Chris Chelios, a player who spent more than 25 years in the NHL, including stints with the Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings. During his career Chelios was awarded three Defensive MVPs, and played on three Stanley Cup winning squads.
The 7% abv and 40 IBU oak-aged ale is described as follows:
This partially-filtered golden ale is capped with soft white foam. Dry hopping with Ontario-grown Chinook and Perle hops gives it a gentle citrus nose. Medium in body, the subtle but complex hallmark of oak aging comes through in the beer’s exceptional smoothness, which takes it right through to a finish that is rich and tapering.
Cheli’s Pale Ale is limited to 11,000 bottles available now at LCBO outlets in Ontario, the Lake of Bays retail store in Baysville, and to subscribers of the Lake of Bays Signature Series Club mail order service. Proceeds will benefit the NHL Alumni Association, an organization that serves as a “passionate advocate for greater quality of life benefits for all former NHL players.”
