NORTH VANCOUVER, BCDeep Cove Brewers in partnership with North Shore Rescue has announced the release of a new beer brewed in honour of Tim Jones, a legendary B.C. mountain rescuer who passed away in 2014 while coming down from a rescue cabin on Mount Seymour.

Shredder Blonde Ale – named after Jones’ long-standing nickname – is a 5% abv beer described as “a crisp American blonde ale: easy drinking, with a mild sweet malt character and a light citrus note provided by the New Zealand Wakatu hops.” It’s the second beer dedicated to Jones to be produced by the brewery, following the more Northwest-inspired Shredder Golden Ale that was released last autumn.

Shredder Blonde Ale was officially released yesterday during a benefit dinner and gala at the brewery. It’s available starting today (July 20th) in 650 ml bottles and on draught, with all proceeds to be donated to the Tim Jones Legacy Fund.
