VANCOUVER, BC – Two months after it was first reported, the newest project from Central City Brewers will be opening its doors in Vancouver tomorrow (July 24th).

Red Racer Restaurant – named after the brand used for Central City’s most popular beers – is located 871 Beatty Street, a location well known to local craft beer drinkers due to it once being home to Dix BBQ & Brewery.

Vacant since the closure of Dix in 2010, the 4,800 square foot space retains some elements of its former tenant – including a menu that is focused heavily on smoked barbeque – combined with a new Victorian Steampunk inspired decor.

While initial reports suggested that the new establishment would also be a brewpub, no brewing will be taking place on-site, but the 40 taps will feature a variety of beers brewed at Central City’s Surrey facility, as well as good selection of brands from other craft brewers in the province.

For more details, see the full opening announcement on the Central City website.
