NORTH BAY, ONThe North Bay Nugget reports that after a year and a half of planning and preparation, a brewery will soon be operating in the Northeastern Ontario city for the first time in a century.

New Ontario Brewing is being founded by partners Ron Clancy, Mike Harrison and Dan Delorme, and takes its inspiration from a brewery of the same name that was open in North Bay from 1907 until it was destroyed by fire in 1915.

The new iteration of New Ontario will be located at 1881 Cassells St. where the last bit of work is being done on the brewhouse and retail store in anticipation of the final federal and provincial approvals to allow brewing and sales to start.

Once up and running, the brewery will offer samples, bottles and growlers in its retail store and tasting room, as well as keg sales to local licensees.
