RICHMOND, BC – The Kwantlen Polytechnic University Brewing and Brewery Operations Program has announced the release of the first beer created there in partnership with a commercial brewery.
Kwantlen Dark Ale was developed by Nathan Griffiths and Steve Pearce of BRB Co. – the new branding for the Richmond, BC brewpub Big River Brewing – in collaboration with KPU brewing instructor Dominic Bernard.
The beer is a 6% abv and 44 IBU Black IPA, and is described as “dark coloured, bitter flavoured and balanced with caramel malts.”
Kwantlen Dark Ale is available now at BRB Co. (150-14200 Entertainment Blvd., Richmond), where it’s being served on tap in the bar and restaurant, and in growlers for take home purchase.
