WINNIPEG, MBThe Winnipeg Free Press reports that Manitoba’s three craft breweries have been awarded pouring rights for the Grey Cup Festival taking place in Winnipeg in the days leading up to 103rd Grey Cup game on November 29th.

According to the report, Half Pints Brewing, Fort Garry Brewing, and Farmery Estate Brewery – the first two located in Winnipeg, and the third currently contract brewing at Ontario’s Muskoka Brewery while building a facility near Neepawa – will have their brands available at all licensed events during the Festival, which runs from November 25th to 29th at venues throughout the city.

They will be the only beers served at most events, except for those where Labatt has a pre-existing partnership with the venue and will also have brands available. (Labatt is the exclusive beer sponsor of the Grey Cup game, meaning that the local brands will not be served at Investors Group Field during the match itself.)

The deal between Grey Cup Festival organizers and the breweries was brokered by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, and the provincial government is reported to be covering the sponsorship costs on behalf of the breweries.
