VANKLEEK HILL, ONBeau’s All Natural Brewing has announced that a beer originally released last February as part of the Pro-Am Series of collaborations with homebrewers has returned, although its now part of the Beau’s Wild Oats Series due to a change in status of the collaborating brewer.

Le Cœur Noir is a 7.1% abv Black IPA developed by Jordan Rainhard, a homebrewer when the original batch was brewed in early 2015 who has subsequently opened Rainhard Brewing in Toronto. He paid a return visit to Beau’s in order to work with them once again on this new release of the beer.

Le Cœur Noir is described as follows:

A contemporary American beer style that combines black beer colour, assertive hop flavour and aroma, and toasty dark malt character. Nearly opaque, this I.P.A. is robust, but the alcohol remains well integrated. It offers up aromas of citrusy, piney hops with malt intonations, toast and restrained mocha.

Le Cœur Noir is released this week at Beau’s retail store and BYBO delivery service, and select LCBO locations in Ontario. Distribution in Quebec will follow next week.
