VANKLEEK HILL, ONBeau’s All Natural Brewing is launching this year’s edition of FeBREWary – a month of beer launches and related events – with the release today (February 4th) of two brand new beers.

Tyrannosaurus Gruit was created especially for International Gruit Day, a celebration of the “centuries-old beer style that incorporates herbs and other botanicals in lieu of hops” that takes place on February 1st each year. Part of the Beau’s Wild Oats series of experimental one-off beers, the 5.8% abv ale brewed with beets, hibiscus flowers, juniper berries and spruce tips is described as follows:

Tyrannosaurus Gruit pours brilliantly clear with a red cranberry colour. Aromas of beets and berries give way to subtle spruce. The flavour reflects beet flavour with resinous, peppery spruce notes. A hint of juniper follows. The finish is bright and crisp.

Also out today is Farm Table: Grisette, the latest in the Beau’s Farm Table Series of traditional and sessionable beers. The 4.9% abv French-style farmhouse ale has the following notes:

Pours gold with a frothy white head. Light-bodied, the flavour flows from light peppery notes to refreshing grassy and herbal hop elements. The finish is brisk and “moreish” (suggestive of another sip!)

Both beers will be available in 600 ml bottles at the Beau’s brewery retail store and BYBO delivery service, and on tap at more than 200 participating bars and pubs across Ontario and Québec. Grisette will also be available at LCBO outlets in Ontario.

A two-day launch event for FeBREWary and the new beers will take place at the Beau’s brewery this weekend (February 6th & 7th), with a cask-tapping, activities, prizes, tours and more.

For more details on these and other events and beer releases planned for the month, see the FeBREWary page on the Beau’s website.
